(More customer reviews)I just received this costume in the mail ... The chest piece doesn't glow, like it says online. There's nothing inside the costume that would light up, and it doesn't appear to glow in the dark. (Which, if it does, it should say "glow in the dark" and not just "glow") So, that's quite disappointing. Also, the entire back of the costume is a solid grey, there is no design, which you can't tell from the pictures. One thing I like is that the "muscles" are individual sections stuffed with batting, so it's nice and soft and doesn't stay rigid like plastic muscles, which can be a nuisance. I bought the size M (7-8) for my 6 year old, who is 4 ft tall. It is almost too short for him, and it rides up his rear end a bit. So, if you're child is taller than 4 ft (or right at) you may want to go up a size.
I rated it low on educational value because it's a costume of a superhero. There's no real educational value there. Maybe if it were Superman or Spiderman you could consider it a lesson in good morals, but it's Iron Man. If you've seen the movies, Tony Starck's character is a narcissistic rebel who enjoys blowing things up. So, I'd give it a 0 in the education department. But, he's fun, and he's Iron Man, so it's popular. (Notice I'm not too judgmental, I did purchase this costume for my own child.)
And durability, I gave it 2 stars because we have costumes made of the same material, and they almost always get a hole in one of the seams. The fabric just doesn't do well with stitching. The thread basically pokes a hole in the fabric when it goes through with the needle, and that tiny hole just ends up getting larger as time goes on. But, it will last through Halloween, which is what most people want. We just have a huge "treasure chest" full of costumes that my boys play with all year long. They usually don't last the entire year before I have to get my sewing machine out.
